Agartala, Oct 01: A women body of the opposition Left front under the banner of the DYFI on Tuesday staged protest here at Agartala and slammed the government over the rising crimes against women in the state.

The former SFI women leader Nilanjana Roy, who led the rally, accused the government of failing to tackle the increasing rate of crimes in the state.

In her address to the protest rally on Tuesday, Nilanjana Roy alleged that the government has completely failed to tackle the rising rate of crimes against women in the state. The government has failed to ensure safety and protection to the women, she alleged.

The women body later submitted a deputation with the DGP in the police headquarter and sought the intervention of the police administration to bring a control over the crimes rate in Tripura, where women are mostly being targeted.
