Agartala, Apr 01: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated light and sound shows in two important tourist locations of the state- Neermahal and Ujjayanta Palace.
Both the places have been given a colourful look to offer a rousing welcome to the G20 delegates with a vibrant ambience.
The Chief Minister accompanied by the Chief Secretary and other officials inaugurated the light and sound show at both the locations to make them more attractive before the delegates with a goal for global promotion of the state’s tourism.
Addressing the media at Neermahal, the Chief Minister announced that ‘tourist police’ would be launched on Sunday to assist the tourists. He said the tourist police personnel would be available at Tripurasundari Temple, Ujjayanta Palace, Neermahal, Chabimura and Narikel Kunja.
Minister for Industries and Commerce department Santana Chakma was also present in the press conference.
Addressing the people at Ujjayanta Palace, the Chief Minister said, the upcoming G20 Science Summit, scheduled to be held on April 3 and 4 next, is a big matter for the state. He said, Tripura got the opportunity to organize such an event following the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said, the G20 delegates would arrive on Sunday.
Minister for Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury said that all the tourism spots in the states are being developed with modern facilities for the tourists.
Meanwhile, the inaugural 30-minute light and sound show beautifully highlighted the history of the royal regime.
