Udaipur, Jan 22: A road accident in Maharani claimed the life of a woman and left her husband critically injured on Wednesday morning. Locals reported that Karmadayal Jamatia and his wife, Sukdevi Jamatia, were traveling in their auto-rickshaw when a speeding truck struck their vehicle, causing the couple to be thrown onto the road.

The driver of the truck fled the scene immediately after the collision. Local residents who witnessed the accident alerted the fire department. Rescue personnel promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured couple to Maharani Hospital.

Tragically, Sukdevi Jamatia was declared dead on arrival by hospital authorities. Karmadayal Jamatia is currently undergoing treatment at Maharani Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
