Agartala, Sep 21: Call him mad or a drugs addict, a youth tried to open the emergency exit door of an aircraft mid-air while flying from Guwahati to Agartala on Thursday.

His irresponsible act made all the passengers on board scared mid-air. Everyone in the flight, however, had a narrow escape following the sincere efforts of the co-passenger and crew members.

The passenger- Biswajit Debnath (41) was flying from Guwahati to Agartala on an IndiGo flight. He faced fury from the other passengers in the flight after it landed at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, Agartala.

Debnath was arrested at the airport for allegedly trying to open the emergency exit door of the aircraft midair and misbehaving with the crew members.

According to police, one co-passenger had pulled Debnath back when he made the attempt. He was under the influence of drugs.
