MoS Suresh Gopi visits Tripura's iconic Neermahal, meets CM

Agartala, July 10: Tripura's tourism sector can make significant contributions in building a new India through tourism, Union Minister of State for Tourism, Suresh Gopi said on Wednesday.
He along with state Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury visited the state's iconic water palace Neermahal.
The Union Minister, who arrived in the state on Tuesday on a three-day visit, said he was impressed by the scenic charm of Neermahal.
He expressed his desire to present the potential of Tripura's tourism development to the Union Tourism Minister. Gopi also called on South Indian film directors and actors to highlight Tripura's tourism in their films.
The MoS praised the efforts of the state tourism department. He emphasized that showcasing Tripura and the northeastern region's tourist attractions could significantly enhance India's global tourism footprint.
After his Neermahal visit, Gopi reiterated his commitment to promoting the region's tourism potential to the central government, underscoring the strategic importance of the northeastern states in India's tourism industry.
Meanwhile, the MoS paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday evening. The courtesy meeting held at the Chief Minister's official residence, where they held elaborate discussions on several important issues.
The major topics included the immense potential of Tripura's tourism sector, the exploration of natural gas, and the transportation of petroleum products.
