Agartala, Dec 17: A group of job aspirants staged a protest in front of the Prison Police headquarters near Purbasha, Agartala and demanded immediate completion of the prison police recruitment process. Following the demonstration on Tuesday, a delegation of the protesters submitted a deputation to the concerned authorities.

According to one of the aspirants, a notification for jail police recruitment was issued in December 2022. Subsequently, physical examinations were conducted for 249 candidates. However, the written and oral examinations are yet to be conducted, leaving the recruitment process incomplete.

The aspirants alleged that they have submitted multiple deputations earlier, requesting the authorities to expedite the pending examinations. Despite their repeated appeals, no satisfactory response was received. The protesters urged the authorities to take immediate action and complete the recruitment process without further delay.
