Kailasahar, Jul 10, 2022, TRIPURATIMES Desk
Unakoti July 10: Deprived customers assembled and gheraoed the Kailasahar Electricity Department and staged a demonstration late Saturday night protesting against the power disruption. Aggrieved customers held the protest programme in front of District president of Yuva Morcha Arup Dhar.
Soon after the agitation started, the power situation in the area became normal – this further irked the agitators. Aggrieved villagers attempt to ransack the office. However, Police along with TSR jawans rushed to the spot to tackle the situation.
Notably, after a private organization, Sai Computer got the responsibility of managing the power supply in Kailashahar, customers are getting inferior quality services. Several times in the past locals lodged complaints against the company alleging an apathetic attitude of the company and reluctance to improve service quality.
‘Apathetic attitude of Sai Computer personnel is unbelievable. Their service quality is very poor as well as their behaviour with customers is also very bad”, agitating villagers alleged.
It is learned, 15 and 16 wards of Kailashahar experienced day-long load shedding on Saturday even as the weather was normal. Repeated attempts to contact the Sai Computer personnel went in vain as concerned staff did not pick up the phone. Some of the customers reached the Company’s office and they were told that there was a fault in the lines. However, as the power supply was not restored till Saturday midnight – people gheraoed the Power department office which is being run by Sai computer.
As the power supply resumed after the protest started, locals alleged that they were deprived of power supply deliberately.
“Common people, even the ruling party members are also unhappy with the services provided by the Sai Computer”, claimed locals.
Disgusted at the regular power issues in Kailashahar people want to get rid of this and demanded a permanent solution to end their plights.
