Public representatives need to have understanding of various flagship projects: CM

Agartala, Nov 21: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday said that the public representatives at panchayat level should have understanding of various state and central flagship projects.
He also encouraged the panchayat representatives to maintain transparency and honesty while implementing various schemes.
The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the state-level workshop on 'People's Plan Campaign-2024' under the theme 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' at PRTI Hall, A.D. Nagar.
He said, efforts have been made to empowering the three-tier panchayats for driving sustainable development and improving the lives of citizens.
While highlighting the panchayat's role in rural development, he said the overall development of the country is not possible without the development of rural areas.
He also acknowledged that various works have been done at the panchayat level and emphasized the need to implement more works for the welfare of the people.
Several blocks and Gram Panchayats were awarded in the event for remarkable achievements in delivering good governance as per Panchayat Development Index.
Secretary of Rural Development Sandeep R. Rathore, Director Prasun Dey, and other public representatives and administrative officers along with Sabhadhipatis of eight Zilla Parishads were present.
