Qualified Physiotherapists meet Director, Health Services on Recruitment issues

Agartala Dec 04: Pressing for long-standing professional issues of the qualified physiotherapists in the state, a delegation of The Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Tripura State Branch on Wednesday placed a deputation to the Director, Health Services at PN Complex, Gurkhabasti Office, Agartala.
The three major issues placed before the Director, Health Services include; Recruitment of Physiotherapist under Directorate of Health Services, Modifications or revisions in Recruitment Rules for Physiotherapists in the state and Adaptation of promotion policy for the government physiotherapist or the physiotherapists working under health and family welfare department, government of Tripura.
Speaking to the reporters, one of the members of the delegation said, “In 2017 last, the government recruited 18 Physiotherapists under the Health and Family Welfare Department. After that for the past 7/8 years the government took no initiative to recruit physiotherapists whereas, there are several posts left vacant”.
The association demanded the state government and the concerned department to create minimum 210 vacant posts and recruit qualified Physiotherapists for smooth running of the health care sector.
