Agartala, Dec 30: With the crucial Lok Sabha elections knocking at the door, the Tripura Unit of Bharatiya Janata Party got a major reshuffle.
An 18- member state committee of the party along with chiefs of important frontal wings were announced on Saturday.
Former MLA Mimi Majumder who failed to get a party ticket for 2023 assembly election has been appointed as the president of Tripura BJP Mahila Morcha replacing Jharna Debbarma, Chairperson of State Women Commission.
MLA Sepahijala district, Sushanta Deb has been named State Yuva Morcha president who took the place of Nabadal Banik, TIDC Chairman.
With appointment of five other vice- president’s for the state party unit, Subal Bhowmik who returned to the party fold prior to the assembly elections has also been included in the panel of vice- presidents.
Also, former Congress minister Billal Miah who joined BJP has been appointed as president, Pradesh BJP Minority Morcha.
Besides, ex- minister and present MLA Bhagaban Das, Amit Rakshit and Bipin Debbarma have been designated as three general secretaries of the party.
Additionally, six State Secretaries have been appointed, comprising Tapas Majumder, David Debbarma, Ratan Ghosh, Mousumi Das, Bhumika Nanda Reang, and Ajanta Bhattacharya.
In his social media post, Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha congratulated all the new state committee members of the party.
He wrote, “I hope the new committee will work hard under the able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party National president J P Nadda and state president Rajib Bhattacharjee to strengthen the organization in the state”.
Meanwhile, some of the new state office bearers paid courtesy visit to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday evening.
