Agartala Jan 06: By installing Solar Rooftop Panels under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar- Muft Bijli Yoajana, people of Tripura can significantly cut down electricity expenses while contributing towards building a greener environment, said Minister Ratan Lal Nath.

On Monday an awareness cum registration camp under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana was organized at the Bidyut Bhavan, Agartala under the initiative of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL).

The camp aimed to inform residents about the scheme’s benefits and facilitate on-the-spot registrations.

The PM Surya Ghar- Muft Bijli Yojana promotes rooftop solar panel installation, offering subsidies to households for affordable and sustainable energy solutions.
 

Minister for Power Ratan Lal Nath while speaking to the media highlighted the transformative potential of the scheme.

He urged residents to take advantage of the initiative, emphasizing its role in reducing electricity costs and promoting environmental sustainability.

Nath emphasized the importance of renewable energy and the government’s commitment to ensuring sustainable and affordable energy for all.

“This initiative is expected to not only reduce the dependency on conventional energy sources but also contribute to environmental conservation”, he said.

The minister also informed about involvement of various banks that will help the residents to install the solar panels by providing loans at subsidized rates.

Nath also announced holding similar camps in other districts and subdivisions of the state in coming days, ensuring widespread outreach and benefit from the scheme.
