Kalyanpur March 13: A sand-laden car (TR01 Z 1838) lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Dauchhara under Kalyanpur police station on Thursday, injuring four people.
The injured have been identified as Badal Giri (24), Bishal Barma (22), Jaharlal Debbarma (24), and the driver, Kuton Das (33).
Local residents promptly rescued the injured and sent them to Kalyanpur Hospital.
Eyewitnesses cited high-speed sand transport as a common issue on the road, contributing to such accidents.
Kuton Das admitted losing control while overtaking an auto and mentioned the pressure of time-bound transport.
The fire brigade and police carried out rescue and investigation efforts.
Meanwhile local residents have urged stricter measures to regulate the speed of sand-laden vehicles to prevent future mishaps.
