Santirbazar Aug 16: Santirbazar SDM Abhedananda Baidya along with DCM Pritam Sarkar antirbazais working for overall development of the Santirbazar Municipal Council area.

A press conference was organized at the office of the municipal council highlighting the development of the municipal area and the development of the city.

Through this press conference, Santirbazar SDM said that in order to keep the Shantir Bazar city clean, modern vending zone has been constructed by taking the resturants scattered in the market in one place. This vending zone was officially inaugurated by MLA Pramod Reang.

On the other hand, LED displays have been installed in the area adjacent to Santirbazar Bridge with government financial assistance. CC cameras have been installed in the entire city area to protect the Santirbazar city from theft and to tackle various crimes. The control room of this CC camera has been made at Santirbazar police station.

Besides, a water tank of 2000 liters has been brought in to supply water to the residences in Santirbazar Municipal area.

On being asked by the reporters about illegal opening of shops on government land in Santirbazar town, in particular, a party office of the ruling party that was opened adjacent to Santirbazar district hospital, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate said that he will take proper legal action in this regard.

Councilor Shyamlal Debnath said that there is a water problem in the municipal area and efforts will be made to solve it within next few months. He added that a tender will be called to solve the water problem. Municipal Council C O Abhedananda Baidya, Deputy C O Pritam Sarkar, Municipal Council Chairman Sapna Baidya, Councilor Shyamalal Debnath and others remained present at the  press conference.
