Tipra Motha joins NDA, two MLAs take oath as cabinet minister, MoS in Tripura

Agartala, Mar 07: Ending all speculations, two Tipra Motha MLAs- Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma were sworn-in as the minister and MoS respectively on Thursday.
Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers in the presence of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma and other ministers and officials.
Welcoming the alliance, the Chief Minister wrote on X, "I welcome @tipra_official (main opposition in #Tripura) in the journey of #ViksitBharat under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji. I also thank Hon’ble HM Shri @AmitShah Ji who constantly guided & facilitated the way for alliance. This participation will pave way for inclusive development & help in achieving our vision of ‘Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura, Unnata Tripura’. I also congratulate Shri Animesh Debbarma & Shri Brishaketu Debbarma on taking oath as Minister & Minister of State respectively today at Raj Bhawan, Agartala."
This major political development ahead of Lok Sabha elections marked joining of Tipra Motha, the main opposition party in Tripura, in the BJP-led government.
Five days after a tripartite agreement was signed between the Government of India, Government of Tripura and Tipra Motha in New Delhi to address the issues of indigenous people, the Pradyot Kishore Debbarma-led party became part of the government.
