Agartala Aug 19: Aiming to seek justice for Dr Moumita Debnath, a trainee doctor at West Bengal’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, the Tripura Community Health Officers’ Organization organized a protest rally in the state capital.

Ignoring the incessant rains since Monday morning, the health workers started from the front of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan and traversed various routes of the city raising voice for swift action in the case.

Talking to the reporters, one of the members of the organization said, “The brutal torture and murder of Dr Moumita Debnath has shaken the medical community, and this rally serves as a poignant reminder that violence against healthcare professionals cannot be tolerated”.

“We demand justice and are urging authorities to take swift action against those responsible for this heinous crime”, he said.

The health workers also demanded the government to take necessary steps for ensuring the safety of medical professionals at their workplaces.
