Tripura Cyclist Bapi Debnath embarks on epic journey to Paris from Sabroom

Agartala Feb 12: Bapi Debnath, world’s first Bengali cyclist, began his monumental journey from Netaji Chowmani in South Tripura’s Sabroom to Paris. This significant journey from National Highway No. 8 in Tripura marks the beginning of an extraordinary adventure.
As Debnath commenced his journey on Wednesday, several prominent figures including Sabroom SDM Shibjyoti Datta, SDPO Nityananda Sarkar, Sabroom Nagar Panchayat Vice Chairman Dipak Das, renowned writer Ashokananda Roy Bardhan, American expatriate Ujjal Majumdar remained present to officially start Debnath’s journey, lending their support and blessings.
Debnath’s mission is multifaceted. With a message aimed at building a drug-free Tripura, he also advocates for the inclusion of psychology in the primary school syllabus and calls for global peace. His initiative underscores the importance of mental health education from a young age, as well as the need for a harmonious world.
Before setting off, Bapi Debnath spoke to the media, sharing insights into his mission and the motivations driving his ambitious endeavour.
Earlier, he received a special reception at the Sabroom police station, where local authorities and residents gathered to honour his courage and vision.
“This journey from Sabroom to Paris is not just a physical challenge but a symbol of hope, resilience, and a quest for a better future for Tripura and beyond”, said Bapi Debnath.
