Agartala, Dec 02: Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday said the present state government is committed towards ensuring socio-economic development of Janajati section.
He said this after holding a meeting with Janajati Samajpatis at house of BJP Karyakarta Sarajit Debbarma at Dhupcherra under Ramchandraghat assembly constituency in Khowai district.
During interactions, the Chief Minister highlighted the works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for Janajati development and also listened to the views shared by the Samajpatis.
Meanwhile the Chief Minister also paid a visit to the residence of Brave Son Chittaranjan Debbarma, who was martyred in a gun battle with militants at an army camp in Nagrota, Jammu, a few years ago.
Dr. Saha also paid respects at the memorial built near the martyr’s residence at Warengtu Bari under the Ramchandraghat assembly constituency in Khowai district.
Later speaking to the media, he said, “Today, I came here to visit the family of Late Chittaranjan Debbarma, who was martyred in 2016 in Kashmir. As I visited Khowai today, I met with his family, paid my respects, and inquired about their needs and whether they require any assistance from the government. During the visit, the family of the Martyr raised some issues, and I have asked the DM Khowai to look into them.”
During the visit to the martyr’s residence, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Janajati Kalyan Minister Bikash Debbarma, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, MLA Ranjit Debbarma, Khowai District Magistrate Chandni Chandran and other officials of the administration.
