Tripura Jan Adhikar Sangram Parishad calls for Mass Sit-in protest on Feb 20

Agartala Feb 17: The Tripura Jan Adhikar Sangram Parishad has called for a mass sit-in protest in capital city’s Paradise Chowmani area on February 20,2025 to protest against various social injustices and demand the establishment of democratic rights for all workers, including marginalized communities such as SC, ST, OBC, and minorities.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, representatives of the Tripura Jan Adhikar Sangram Parishad said that the protest aims to draw attention to numerous issues affecting these communities and to seek prompt and effective solutions.

The organization put forth 22-point demands urging the government to address them promptly to ensure the welfare and rights of all citizens.

Few of the key demands includes; “Action Against Racist and Communal Miscreants, Protection of Religious Minorities, Proper Implementation of the Forest Rights Act 2006, Multi-Level Self-Government System for Tribals, Land Settlement for Landless Jharkhandis and Tea Workers, Regularization of Sanitation Workers and Contractual employees, among others”.
