Tripura Police arrests 2 youths with 18,000 Yaba tablets

Dharmanagar/ Churaibari, June 28: In a successful drive in the fight against drugs, Tripura Police arrested two drug peddlers along with 18,000 Yaba tablets on Friday.
The North Tripura district police led by SP Bhanupada Chakraborty raided a scooty near Radharaman Ashram in Dharmanagar.
During the search, the policemen found 18,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 90 lakh and detained two youths- Thangleon Mani Halam (37) and Realchi Halam (30), both are from of Bagbasa Panchayat area.
According to the SP North Tripura, a case has been initiated against the arrested persons under the NDPS Act and they would be produced before the court on Saturday.
This was another successful drive under the Neshamukt Tripura campaign by the North ripura district police, two days after the seizure of drugs worth Rs. 2 crore from the same district.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, Churaibari police led by OC Samaresh Das seized 21 kilograms ganja from a container vehicle that was carrying online delivery items.
The driver of the vehicle, Ratan Debnath (26) of South Laljhuri area in Kanchanpur sub-division, was detained in this connection. Police said the market value of the seized ganja is Rs. 3 lakh.
