Agartala, Jan 22: Minister for Information and Technology Pranajit Singha Roy on Wednesday said that ‘Tripura Start-up Policy 2024’ would be launched on January 24.

He said, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha would launch the policy in a programme at Prajna Bhavan, Agartala in the presence of other dignitaries.

This policy would support the Start-Ups in purchasing raw materials and equipment, marketing and otherwise, he said, adding that an amount of Rs. 50 crore has been approved.

The IT minister also said that a target has been set by the government to build up around 200 Start-ups every year. The policy aims at encouraging innovative ideas of the youths and generating employment opportunities for them.

Under this new policy, all the Start-ups would be given various incentives and additional support would be extended to Start-ups run by women and Divyangjan.

In the press conference held at the Secretariat, the IT minister was accompanied by Secretary Kiran Gitte and Director Jeya Ragul Geshan B.
