Dharmanagar, Nov 16: The North District hospital at Dharmanagar is reeling under unhygienic conditions, causing trouble and risking the public health inside the hospital.

It was reported that due to the irregularities of the cleaning staff in the hospital, the patients and party with them are suffering from acute unhygienic condition of the existing toilets and bathrooms inside the hospital.

The cleaning staff of the district hospital are accused of evading work on a regular basis to disobey the instruction of the concerned authorities. The locals, including the patient parties, complained that despite having specialized doctors, the hospital is reeling under a crisis of proper services, which perhaps has left the hospital in an unhygienic condition for the past many days.

They said that the existing toilet outside the hospital premise, which was opened to facilitate the patient parties and others is left closed as it was illegally occupied by a shopkeeper to continue his business.

On the other hand, a section of nurses were also accused for their irregular and improper services for the patients. According to the locals, a private electricity worker resident of Silchar, who was admitted in the hospital recently, had died due to the negligence of a section of nurse in the hospital. In addition to this it was also alleged that a large number of birth and death certificates with forged signatures of the officials of this hospital are being noticed on a regular basis.

The locals, including the patient parties however sought the intervention of the concerned administration to ensure proper service in the hospital for the welfare of the patients and general public.
