Agartala Feb 16: To commemorate the 59th foundation day of Ramthakur Sangh, a renowned club of the capital city, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized on Sunday, drawing significant participation from the community.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, Mayor Dipak Majumder, Banamalipur MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, among others.
The Ramthakur Sangh has a long-standing tradition of contributing to the welfare of society, and this blood donation camp was another testament to their commitment, said Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy as he spoke to the reporters and hailed the organizers for organizing such an event.
The camp saw enthusiastic participation from locals especially youth, who came forward to donate blood and support the cause.
MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, in his address, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting public health and the well-being of society.
He said, “Earlier clubs were known for muscle power but after the establishment of BJP government, Clubs are involved with social activities. They are working for the betterment of the community throughout the year”.
He applauded the efforts of the organizers and encouraged more people to participate in similar events.
Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the crucial role of blood donation in emergencies and the positive impact it has on the lives of recipients.
The collected blood will be used to help those in need, thereby saving lives and fostering a sense of community solidarity.
