The timeless values of Ayurveda were brought to life at Kalyanpur Higher Secondary School, where students, teachers, and health workers gathered to mark Ayurveda Day with a special awareness programme.Â
Â
Organised by the West Dwarikapur Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), the event aimed to spread the message of healthy living and highlight the relevance of India’s ancient medical system for both the general public and the younger generation.
Â
The programme focused on instilling awareness among students about Ayurveda’s holistic approach to health and the importance of cultivating healthy habits from an early age. Discussions covered Ayurveda’s heritage, the role of natural elements, and the significance of balanced nutrition in maintaining physical and mental well‑being.
Â
Speaking at the event, Ayurvedic doctor Supriya Barman from Kalyanpur Hospital noted that modern lifestyles—marked by irregular diets, lack of exercise, and stress—are contributing to rising health problems. He emphasised the need for regular routines, nutritious food, adequate rest, physical activity, and mental wellness, adding that awareness from childhood can help build a healthier and more conscious generation.
Â
Students were introduced to practical aspects of Ayurvedic living, including personal hygiene, preventive health practices, and the importance of discipline in daily life.Â
Â
Teachers also addressed the gathering, reinforcing the message that Ayurveda is not just a traditional system but a scientifically relevant approach that complements modern medicine.
Â
The initiative was warmly received by the school community, with enthusiasm evident among students and staff. Organisers stressed that such programmes should not remain one‑time observances but evolve into sustained efforts combining schools and health centres to benefit society at large.
