Construction of Anganwadi Centre begins in Chandrapur Garjantilla after long-standing demand

Relief and celebration swept through Chandrapur Garjantila in Udaipur as work finally began on the construction of a long‑awaited Anganwadi Centre, fulfilling a demand that residents had pressed for over many years. The project, estimated at Rs 11 lakh, was formally launched on Wednesday morning with a Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, marking the start of construction.

The event was attended by Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy, District Council Vice‑President Sujan Sen, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Shilpi Das, along with other elected representatives and local dignitaries. The presence of villagers at the ceremony reflected the widespread enthusiasm and relief that the demand was finally being met.

Residents explained that the absence of an Anganwadi Centre had caused significant hardship, particularly for children and mothers, who struggled to access government services related to nutrition, pre‑primary education, and maternal care. Despite repeated appeals to the authorities, the demand had remained unfulfilled until now.

With construction now underway, locals expressed hope that the new centre would ease their difficulties and provide essential services more effectively. The festive atmosphere at the Bhoomi Pujan highlighted the community’s joy, with many describing the development as the end of a long wait.

Community members believe the centre will not only improve access to welfare schemes but also strengthen the foundation for healthier and better‑educated children in the area.
