Road linking Briddhinagar and R K Nagar left in dilapidated condition

Locals have demanded immediate repair of the road connecting Briddhinagar to R K Nagar via Kalinagar, alleging that frequent movement of soil-laden trucks has left the stretch in a dilapidated condition and caused difficulties for commuters.

Locals said the road has deteriorated over a prolonged period due to the regular movement of trucks carrying soil through the area. According to them, the vehicles often travel with heavy loads, resulting in extensive damage to the road surface.

Speaking to reporters, a local villager claimed that large sections of the road have developed cracks and potholes, making travel difficult for motorists and pedestrians alike.

The problem becomes more severe during the monsoon season when rainfall leads to waterlogging and muddy conditions, causing inconvenience to people using the route on a daily basis, they said.

Locals urged the authorities to undertake repair work at the earliest and restore the road to a usable condition.

They also appealed to the administration to ensure that trucks carrying soil adhere to prescribed speed limits while passing through the area and avoid transporting excessive loads.

The locals said they expect the authorities to take appropriate measures to address the issue and prevent further damage to the road infrastructure.
