
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday said he highlighted the state's initiatives in deregulation, compliance reduction, investment promotion, higher education, healthcare, sports, skill development and startups at the 11th Meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The meeting, held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, was themed "Human Capital for Vikasit Bharat".
In a social media post, Dr Saha said Tripura's efforts in easing regulations and reducing compliance burdens, along with measures aimed at attracting investments and strengthening human resource development, were placed before the council.
He said the state has been focusing on expanding higher educational institutions, improving health services, promoting sports, enhancing skill development programmes and supporting startups as part of its development agenda.
According to the chief minister, these initiatives are contributing to the goal of building a developed Tripura while aligning with the broader national objective of "Viksit Bharat".
Dr Saha also said India has made progress across several sectors under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is moving towards the target of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The Governing Council of NITI Aayog is the apex body of the public policy think tank and comprises chief ministers of states, lieutenant governors of Union Territories and other stakeholders. The council meets periodically to discuss development priorities, policy initiatives and issues of national importance.
The theme of this year's meeting focused on human capital development and its role in achieving the vision of a developed India.
