
Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) delivered impressive financial results for FY 2025-26, boasting robust growth in business, profits, and asset quality while advancing financial inclusion and rural development across the state.
Chairman Satyendra Singh unveiled the bank's annual highlights at a press conference here Saturday, crediting citizen support, tech-savvy staff, and diversification efforts. "With CRAR at 28.58% and Net NPA at zero, TGB enters FY 2026-27 with substantial firepower for priority sector and advances growth," Singh declared.
Founded in 1976 with four branches and Rs. 4.52 lakh in business, TGB now operates 150 branches, 12 ultra-small branches, and covers all eight districts. Total business hit Rs. 15,422 crore, up 9.49% year-on-year. Deposits climbed to Rs. 10,889 crore, lifting the credit-deposit ratio to 41.62% from 39.93%.
Profitability soared, with operating profit at Rs. 236.10 crore and net profit jumping 76.19% to Rs. 184.84 crore (YoY). Loan disbursements reached Rs. 2,854.71 crore. Asset quality strengthened as gross NPAs fell to 2.89%, net NPAs stayed at zero, and CRAR exceeded regulatory norms at 28.58%. Per-branch business hit Rs. 102.81 crore, and per-employee business stood at Rs. 17.77 crore, signaling high efficiency.
TGB prioritized rural lending, with agriculture & Allied sector advances at Rs. 1,119.05 crore (24.69% of total) and priority sector lending at Rs. 3,499.81 crore (77.22%). It issued 29,661 Kisan Credit Cards worth Rs. 125.56 crore, funded 16,360 Self Help Groups with Rs. 722.35 crore, and approved 12,504 Mudra loans totaling Rs. 229.99 crore. Schemes like PMEGP, Swablamban, and PM SVANidhi boosted entrepreneurship.
Infrastructure grew with 43 ATMs and 487 Business Correspondent points, including 148 BC Sakhis, for remote access. The Bank has sanctioned Housing loans to 1,101 accounts worth Rs. 260.64 crore (total outstanding Rs. 971.70 crore), plus Rs. 4.58 crore in education loans.
The Bank has launched Digital initiatives and introduced e-Bank Guarantee, co-branded credit card with Punjab National Bank, upgraded mobile banking, e-lobbies, and Aadhaar Data Vault for security.
Financial inclusion efforts included 5.39 lakh Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts, 4.58 lakh PM Suraksha Bima Yojana enrolments, 1.73 lakh PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and 1.89 lakh Atal Pension Yojana. TGB topped Regional Rural Banks in Atal Pension campaigns, won SKOCH Award 2025, and multiple excellence honors.
CSR activities supported education, sports, and vulnerable groups. Looking ahead, TGB targets digital banking, agriculture/MSME credit, and literacy drives, reaffirming service to farmers, women, youth, and entrepreneurs for a self-reliant Tripura.
