
Bishalgarh, Feb 02: In a significant operation, the police of Madhupur police station on Sunday nabbed at least 2 Rohingyas from Jam Chowmuhni area at Madhupur in Bishalgarh subdivision, while they were attempting to cross the international border of India and Bangladesh.
The detained were identified by the police as Md. Rafiq and Umar Farooq, both residents of the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
Police informed that, alarmed by the locals, a team of police rushed to Jam Chowmuhni area on Sunday and nabbed the 2 Rohingyas over their suspicious movement towards the Indo-Bangla border.
During preliminary interrogation the duo said that they had reportedly been working as laborers in plastic factories in Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir for an extended period before deciding to return to Bangladesh, police told reporters, adding that police is further interrogating them.Â
