8-month-old Janajati infant undergoes life-saving surgery at GB hospital

Agartala, Feb 6: An eight-month-old janajati infant from Amarpur, Ozanai Chakma, has successfully undergone a critical throat surgery at GB Pant Hospital in Agartala recently, officials said.
The baby was initially admitted to Gomati District Hospital in Udaipur, with severe breathing difficulties.
The child was later referred to GB Pant Hospital,
Upon diagnosis, doctors found a blockage in the respiratory tract caused by a hard foreign object.
The doctors of the ENT department successfully operated using an advanced medical machine worth around Rs 1 crore.
Addressing the media on Thursday, HoD of ENT Prof. Biplab Nath confirmed the success of the procedure and stated that the infant had fully recovered.
AGMC faculty member Prof. Anil Kumar Saha and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Abhijit Sarkar were also present at the press conference.
