Agartala, Feb 06: Soon after receiving notice from the Agartala Municipal Corporation, the depressed traders of Agartala Lake Chowmuhni Bazar – one of the renowned markets of the capital town on Thursday moved to their councillor of Ward No. 19 of AMC and demanded for an alternate move.

A large group of traders gathered infront of the ward office and expressed their dissatisfaction over the decision of the AMC in dismantling their shops.

The traders said that they have been engaged to their business since long from the King’s rule here in the Lake Chowmuhni Bazar, but the sudden decision of the AMC over dismantling the bazar in the name of occupying Khas land has landed them in trouble.

They demanded their councillor to rethink about their decision and arrange an alternate path for the traders of Lak Chowmuhni bazar, so that they can earn their daily bread and butter for their family.

They also sought the intervention of the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and Mayor of AMC Dipak Majumder and pressed for their demand.
