Agartala Jul 08: Highlighting the plight of unorganized workers across the state under the BJP-led government, the All Tripura Unorganized Workers Congress organized a mass rally in the capital city on Monday and later placed a deputation to the Director, Labour Department.
During the protest, representatives of the party at various levels voiced their concerns about inadequate wages, lack of social security, and limited access to essential benefits.
The gathering emphasized the urgent need for policy reforms and better working conditions for unorganized labourers.
Talking to the reporters, Chairman All Tripura Unorganized Workers Congress, Sushanta Pal said, “Previously too we approached the Labour Department authorities, placed deputations but the department that is meant to work for the working class seems to have turned into puppets of the BJP-led government”.
“The workers are deprived of essential services, so-called BJP leaders at every mandal across the state are discriminating against them. We demand labour cards, clearance of pending allowances, end of corruption in the Labour Department”, he said.
The All Tripura Unorganized Workers Congress called upon relevant authorities to address these issues promptly.
