Agartala Jan 09: The Agartala Municipal Corporation is all set to host the annual Sharad Samman program on January 16, 2024.
The much-anticipated event will take place at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha gracing the occasion as the inaugurator.
The program will also witness the presence of Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, and various corporators of the Agartala Municipal Corporation.
Mayor Dipak Majumdar, while addressing a press conference at the Agartala Municipal Corporation conference hall on Thursday, provided detailed insights into the event.
He announced that the Sharad Samman awards will recognize the exceptional efforts of various clubs and social organizations that participated in the Sharad Utsav 2024.
The esteemed judges have evaluated the performances based on puja management and have selected winners across different categories. The awards include: Best Puja: Flowers Club Best Idol: Central Road Youth Organization (Central Zone), Spuling Club (East Zone) Best Pavilion: Netaji Play Forum Center (Central Zone), Ram Thakur Sangha (East Zone) Best Lighting Decoration: Agiye Chala Sangha (Central Zone), Shanti Para Club (East Zone) Best Theme: Agiye Chala Sangha (Central Zone), Lal Bahadur Byamagar Club (East Zone) and Best Durga Puja Run by Women: Mukti Sangha
Majumder said, “In recognition of their remarkable contributions, winning clubs will receive trophies and financial assistance of Rs 50 thousand. Additionally, various zonal clubs will be awarded Rs 25 thousand along with trophies as a token of appreciation for their participation”.
The Mayor further added, “AMC’s Sharad Samman is a tradition that promotes unity among the city dwellers. It also aims to inspire and motivate clubs to uphold and enhance their cultural practices and social activities meant for the welfare of the common masses”.
Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, along with other Corporators of various wards under AMC, Officials of the Corporation also attended the press conference.
