Agartala, Jan 09: With the initiative of Tripura Institution for Transformation (TIFT), the first-ever Prabashi Tripurabashi Summit- 2025 was held in virtual mode in Agartala.
The summit held in the Chief Minister's War Room, TIFT, focused on strengthening ties with the people of the state leaving outside and emphasized leveraging their expertise to promote the state’s rich cultural heritage and growth on the global stage.
Around 60 non-resident Tripurians from across the country and abroad joined the summit to foster collaboration.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha joined the summit at the last moment.
On behalf of the state government, Secretary to good Governance department Kiran Gitte, OSD to Chief Minister- Paramananda Sarkar Banerjee, Director of Industries and Commerce department Viswashree B., State Mission Director of NHM Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury, Director of Tourism Prashant Badal Negi and other officials were present.
The first edition of Prabashi Tripurabashi Summit- 2025 marked a milestone in strengthening the connection between Tripura and its global community. It promises to pave the way for a prosperous future through the shared efforts of residents and non-resident Tripurians alike.
The summit began with remarks by Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Good Governance Department, who highlighted the historical significance of non-resident initiatives by referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s return to India in 1915. He noted that since 2003, Prabashi Bharatiya Diwas has been celebrated annually, and this summit is a continuation of that tradition, marking the first such event in Tripura.
Gitte emphasized that the primary goal of the summit was to showcase Tripura’s rich culture and heritage to the world through its diaspora. He further discussed the state’s recent progress in sectors like healthcare, education, communication, tourism, economy, and industrial potential.
The Chief Minister’s OSD stressed the state government’s commitment to maintaining a strong connection with the diaspora to accelerate Tripura’s development.
