Agartala Nov 22: The All Tripura School Computer Education Sangha (ATSCSS) held a press conference on Friday to address the allegations surrounding the incident on November 15 at Krishnapur High School in Khowai district.
Highlighting the issue, ATSCSS State president Bhabesh Chakraborty said, “On November 15, an incident occurred at Krishnapur High School in Khowai involving alleged beating up of a teacher, which was captured in a video that has since gone viral. This video has sparked widespread outrage, not only within the school community but also among teachers, students, and the public”.
“ATSCSS strongly condemns the incident, emphasizing that such actions are unacceptable in any educational setting”, he said.
The ATSCSS members called for a thorough investigation to determine who is responsible for the incident and the reason behind it.
The organization stresses that, regardless of the teacher's guilt, the violent response seen in the video cannot be justified.
They believe that a collective effort from the school's staff, local parents, and the school management committee would have been more effective in addressing the issue.
ATSCSS appealed to the state education department, under Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha to ensure a proper investigation.
“We seek appropriate punishment for those found guilty, whether they are teachers, students, or parents, as seen in the video footage. Additionally, we request the affected teacher, Bipul Biswas, to come forward and provide a detailed account to the media”, they said.
