Boxanagar, Feb 23: The foundation stone for the long-awaited Fire Service Station in Boxanagar was laid on Sunday. Locals credited local MLA Tofazzal Hossain for the achievement.
The ceremony began with a Bhumi Pujan (land worship) and a prayer led by Maulana Sahib, fostering a sense of unity among the people.
According to locals, Hossain's relentless efforts led to the approval of the project, with a budget of Rs 1.61 crore.
The locals stated that even though opposition CPI(M) and Congress ministers had represented the constituency for the past 20 years, a Fire Service Station was never established in the area.
As with the station being established soon, the locals expressed satisfaction as they will have quicker access to emergency services.
MLA Tofazzal Hossain, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Swapna Nama, social worker Anil Chandra Das, administrative officials and local dignitaries attended the event.
