Agartala Feb 01: The proposed budget for 2025-26 reflects the aspirations of people from all sections of society, with a particular focus on improving the lives of middle and lower-income groups. It aims to accelerate their all-round development and contribute to the vision of a developed India.
West Tripura Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb emphasized that the budget provides a realistic roadmap for the empowerment of the poor, youth, farmers, and women.
The former chief minister highlighted that in the last ten years, the world has witnessed a new and strong India.
He said, “The budget will further strengthen India's role in the global economy. Key measures include tax exemption on annual income up to Rs 12 lakh, an amendment bill to simplify the tax structure, and relief for senior citizens in TDS. These initiatives will provide significant relief to the middle and lower-middle classes”.
Deb added that the budget will open new doors for development and innovation in agriculture, manufacturing, employment, MSMEs, and rural areas. New packages to encourage tourism and the redevelopment of 50 tourist centres will boost the economy and attract tourists.
“The budget proposes increasing the loan facility on micro credit cards for the development of small and medium industries, along with a target to increase small-scale exports”, he noted.
Speaking about benefits of the farming community, the Lok Sabha MP said, “Increasing the loan limit on Kisan Credit Cards from three to five lakh, initiatives to help 1 crore 70 lakh farmers under the Dhan Dhanya Yojana in 100 districts, and targets for self-reliance in pulse cultivation and edible oil production will bring smiles to the faces of farmers. Emphasis on cotton production and other agricultural initiatives will further support the agricultural sector”.
Deb concluded by stating that India's economy is the fastest-growing in the world from an economic perspective.
He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and their team for delivering a people-oriented budget aimed at achieving a developed India.
