Agartala, Nov 17: Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress on Sunday lodged an FIR at West Agartala Police Station against a fake social media account created in the name of former Youth Congress president Raku Das. 

A group of Youth Congress leaders, led by former Social Media Chairman Manir Housain, filed the complaint, alleging that the account was being used to defame Das, an emerging leader currently in Maharashtra for a political campaign ahead of the state’s assembly elections. 

Condemning the act, the leaders called it a deliberate attempt to dull Das’s reputation and mislead the public. Police have started a probe in this connection.
