Agartala, Nov 17: The body of Subhagata Chakraborty, alias Abhijit, a resident of Renters Colony, was recovered from the residence of Ratan Kumar Chowdhury on Akhaura Road on Sunday afternoon. The incident has sparked allegations of murder linked to financial transactions. 

Ratan Kumar Chowdhury, the house owner and Abhijit’s business partner, claimed Abhijit visited on Saturday for business calculations. They were scheduled to travel to Mohanpur on Sunday morning. Chowdhury stated that Abhijit locked himself in a room and allegedly committed suicide. 

According to distributors working under Abhijit, attempts to contact him earlier that day were met with an unidentified person answering his phone, who informed them that Abhijit is busy withdrawing a significant sum of money from a bank. Hours later, his body was found at Chowdhury’s house. 

However, the family of the deceased has raised suspicions and stated that Abhijit was murdered over financial disputes. They accused the house owner of constructing a suicide narrative to cover up the crime. 

Police have arrested one individual and started a probe in this connection.
