Bishalgarh, Dec 12: A 24 years old youth and a father of two daughters was allegedly thrashed to death on the suspicion of theft of battery.

The incident took place recently at TSR Chowmuhni area after the youth Sujan Namah was accused of stealing battery from a shop. Following this a group of locals thrashed him and left him ill.

Wife of the deceased informed that after her husband Sujan Namah was beaten, he came home and fell ill and later he was shifted to local hospital from where he was referred to Agartala IGM Hospital. he was again shifted to Agartala GBP Hospital, where he succumbed to his illness on Wednesday night. She suspected that Sujan Namah might have died out of severe injuries after he was thrashed. 

The incident sparked resentment among the family members.
