Govt. Schemes like PM Swanidhi Yojana aims to make people self-reliant: Mayor

Agartala Nov 30: On Saturday, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar officially launched the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana at the East Zonal Office of the Corporation. The event aimed to empower street vendors by providing them with financial assistance to support their businesses and promote self-reliance.
Sukhomoy Saha, AMC East Zonal Chairman, Sukumar Saha, Corporator among others remained present at the program.
As a part of this program, the Mayor handed over vendor licenses to several street vendors, helping them to continue their small businesses and achieve greater economic stability.
Addressing the program, the Mayor emphasized the significance of various state and central government schemes.
“Under the present government, both at the state and the Centre, several active schemes have been launched that are adequately helping the citizens, especially in becoming self-reliant. Loans are offered without the need for a deposit, easing access to capital for small-scale entrepreneurs. Financial aid through various schemes aims to foster self-sufficiency among street vendors, enabling them to improve their livelihoods”, he said.
Majumder further added that by empowering street vendors, the scheme contributes to the overall economic growth of the community.
