Industrialists now showing interests to invest in Tripura: CM

Agartala, Sept 28: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, who inspected Kumarghat industrial estate in Unakoti on Wednesday, said the industrialists from various parts are now showing their interests to invest in Tripura.
The Chief Minister said, "The role of industrial estates is very important in economic growth, employment generation and women empowerment. With this view, our government has taken steps to develop new industries."
During his inspection, the Chief Minister was accompanied by TIDC chairman Nabadal Banik, Director of Industries and Commerce department Viswashree B., Unakoti District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, SP Unakoti Kanta Jahangir and others.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister mentioned, "The industrialists from various parts have also been showing their interests to invest in Tripura following connectivity development & industry-friendly policies of the present government."
He inspected various bamboo-based and food processing units at the Kumarghat industrial estate and also held interactions with the owners and staff present there.
According to sources, the Kumarghat Industrial Estate will be further developed with best in class infrastructure under financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank. The total infrastructure development cost will be Rs. 61.24 crore.
At present, 12 bamboo based units and 3 food processing based units are running on the estate. The industrial estate was set up in the year 1988 with area measuring 45.66 acres.
