Agartala Jan 13: Giving topmost priority to the education sector of the state, the state government is striving for infrastructural development of the schools and other educational institutions, said chief minister Dr Manik Saha.
Dr Manik Saha on Thursday laid the foundation stone of new school building and additional classroom building for AD Nagar Higher Secondary School enrolled under Mission Vidyajyoti Scheme.
Addressing the program, Dr Saha said, “Education is one of the topmost priority of the state government. And in view of this, the government is working to strengthen the infrastructure of the schools in Tripura”.
“For proper implementation of policies of any type be it National Education Policy or Mission Vidyajyoti Scheme, proper infrastructure is sheer necessity. This also includes advanced technology-based education, digital classrooms and other facilities so that students find interests in lessons and can gain knowledge in every sector”, he said.
He also asked the teachers to keep themselves updated with the students.
“Students of this generation are well versed with almost every topic because they have all sorts of information within their reach in this age of digitalization. Therefore, the teachers must also keep themselves updated”, he added.
Stressing on the strong bond between teacher and student, the chief minister said, “Be it any century or modernized era but the students must respect the teachers and try to gain knowledge from them as much as possible”.
He further urged the students to be better human beings apart from gaining bookish knowledge.
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder among others remained present at the program.
