Years of waiting: BPL family struggles without government aid

Kumarghat, Feb 05: In Ramgona-Narayanpur, under Pabiachhara constituency, lives Jitendra Das, a daily wage laborer, with his wife Joba Das and their child. For years, Das and hid family have endured life in a fragile, dilapidated hut, hoping for government assistance that never arrived.
Despite being listed under the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category, Das’s family has not received a government-provided house, nor do they have access to clean drinking water. Even after seven years of political change in the state, their condition remains the same. The administration has turned a blind eye, while promises of housing schemes and piped water under the Jal Jeevan Mission remain unfulfilled in rural areas like Ramgona-Narayanpur.
Jitendra Das struggles daily to feed his family, but their biggest worry is the uncertainty of shelter. Every monsoon, the leaking roof threatens to collapse, yet no official has stepped forward to help. Their only plea is for the government to acknowledge their suffering and provide the basic necessities they were promised.
