Long-time Left Leader joins Congress

Agartala Dec 26: Umesh Debnath, a long time Left Front leader from the 6-Agartala assembly constituency, joined the Congress party along with his supporters on Thursday.
The induction ceremony was attended by several leaders of Tripura Pradesh Congress including Sadar president of the party Tanmoy Roy, Pradesh Mahila Congress Vice-president Ratna Sinha, Bordowali Block president Dipak Kumar Pal among others.
The leaders ceremoniously handed over the party flag to Debnath, symbolizing his official induction into the National Congress.
Talking to the reporters, Congress leader Tanmoy Roy said, “Umesh Debnath’s long-term experience is expected to bring valuable insights and strengthen the Congress party in coming days”.
Roy also highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving the party's goals and working towards the betterment of the community.
Debnath, in his address, expressed his gratitude to the National Congress party for the warm welcome and reiterated his commitment to serving the people.
He emphasized the need for collective efforts to address the challenges faced by the region and to work towards a prosperous future.
