Kalyanpur Jan 03: As we immerse ourselves more and more in the trappings of modern life, the often-heard conversations about environmental protection can start to feel distant.
The balance between embracing modernity and preserving our environment seems increasingly tough to maintain.
However, there are still places and individuals who show us that with determination and ingenuity, we can protect the environment while standing as examples of sustainable living.
One such inspiring figure is Manoj Debbarma, a young, enterprising marginal farmer in his 30s, from Ruprai Haor in the Ruprai ADC Village. This village lies approximately eight to ten kilometres away from the Kalyanpur block office.
Manoj's dedication to environmental consciousness is evident in his inventive approach to farming.
In a recent interaction with Tripura Times, Manoj shared his latest innovation — a self-made cart that serves multiple purposes in his farming activities.
Manoj proudly explained that while he could have easily purchased a motorized vehicle, he chose to construct this manual cart instead. This decision was driven by his commitment to save money and, importantly, to minimize his environmental footprint.
Manoj's cart is not just a tool for his daily chores; it's a symbol of sustainable living.
While such innovative examples might seem small or insignificant to many, they are crucial steps toward a balanced environment.
Our environment's current state of imbalance demands us to recognize and applaud such initiatives.
Indeed, if these small, individual efforts were to be collectively adopted, they could pave the way for a more positive environmental future.
