Agartala Jul 02: Agartala Municipal Commissioner (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Yadav visited Dashamighat, inspecting several ongoing development projects.
The duo also toured the Battala cremation area adjacent to the Battala Fish market and the Border Gol Chakkar Light House.
Talking to the media persons, the Mayor announced that the Dashamighat Visarjan Sthal would undergo a transformation ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
“Additionally, the Battala crematorium is currently undergoing renovations, with completion expected by August 15. The road leading to the Battala fish market will also be revamped”, he said.
Majumder said, “Projects worth Rs 99 crore have been initiated, some of which have already been completed and inaugurated. The abandoned area is receiving an investment of Rs 88 crore, with approximately Rs 70 crore of work already finished”.
Furthermore, the state government has allocated funds for the road work, estimated at Rs. 1.5 crore, which will result in an RCC road.
“In a bid to promote wellness, a health and yoga park will be constructed along the river bank, approximately 2 km from Dasmighat”, he said.
The AMC Mayor further said that the construction of the light house at Gol Chakkar area is progressing rapidly, promising improved infrastructure for the region.
