Agartala Aug 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday accorded warm felicitation to the newly appointed Tripura BJP Chief, Rajib Bhattacharjee.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, MoS Pratima Bhowmik, State BJP Pravari Vinod Sonkar, AMC Mayor Deepak Majumder and others greeted the new president of the party.

Addressing the press at the Pradesh BJP headquarters in Krishna Nagar Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said,” Rajib Bhattacharjee has performed the duties of an important office bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Party starting from a dedicated worker with keen efforts. I am very happy that the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi ji and the All India President of the party JP Nadda ji entrusted him with the responsibility of the president of the party in Tripura. I hope the organization will be stronger in Tripura under his able leadership”.

BJP president JP Nadda on Thursday appointed the party's Tripura unit vice president, Rajib Bhattacharjee as president of the State committee.

The announcement regarding the appointment of Bhattacharjee, chairman of Tripura Khadi Board, as the new president came on Thursday. He replaced Dr. Manik Saha, who is presently the Chief Minister of Tripura.  

On the other hand, Rajib Bhattacharjee has been given the charge of running the BJP’s organization at a crucial time as the state would go to assembly polls in around six months. Besides, the Village Council polls would also take place soon.
