Panchayat Elections: Sushanta banks on Development to draw Votes

Agartala Aug 02: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has kept its promises made to the people and in the past few years Tripura has seen a new era of development along with peace and prosperity, said Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
Banking on the developmental works done under the BJP-led government in Tripura, the Minister for Transport and Tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury urged the people of the state to vote for the BJP nominees in the ensuing three-tier panchayat polls.
With barely few days left for the day of voting, Chowdhury along with other party leaders is campaigning for the BJP candidates in Majlishpur assembly area.
Friday, while addressing a meeting at the Tarak Bhuiya Para under Harijoy Chowdhury Para Panchayat Sushanta emphasized the ongoing progress in Tripura.
“It is the Bharatiya Janata Party under which people of Tripura have seen development at all levels. Every election is important, same goes with the Panchayat polls. Therefore, to hold on to the developmental pace, villagers must ensure victory of BJP candidates”, he said.
Although the ruling BJP has already secured about 70 percent of the seats in the three-tier Panchayats without contest, the senior leaders of the party including ministers are carrying out campaigns on a regular basis to reach out to the common people.
