Udaipur Feb 03: In a situation where “Vidyajyoti Schools” is claimed to be a promising scheme of the state education department, a section of parents raised complaints adding that ordinary students are being deprived of admission opportunity under this project.
The state government identified 100 schools across the state and is converting them into English medium schools in a phased manner.
However, from the very beginning, the issue of ‘Vidyajyoti Schools’ has remained a matter of debate among the parents, teachers and students as well.
While a group of people are of the view that the schools under Mission Vidyajyoti Project will provide a favourable environment for quality education including proper infrastructure, another group contradicts the statement claiming that it will deprive the children hailing from weaker economic backgrounds.
This time, a section of parents complained that government schools in the state have not published any sort of advertisements for admission into various classes yet. Whereas, many private schools across the state are taking huge amounts of money in the name of admission much before the end of the current academic session.
Moreover, since the introduction of Vidyajyoti Scheme, not a single school enrolled under the scheme has admitted students in the afternoon section, i.e. Class VI – Class X.
In this situation, the parents and students are complaining that ordinary students are being deprived of the admission opportunity under this project.
Also, the state government and the concerned department has no clue how the private schools are charging huge amount of money for admission into new classes.
The parents and students demanded the state government to immediately conduct admission tests for various classes in the schools enrolled under ‘Vidyajyoti Scheme’.
