Agartala, Aug 25: Ending all speculations, national president of Bharatiya Janata Party- Jagat Prakash Nadda appointed Rajib Bhattacharjee as the new president of BJP Tripura Pradesh.

The announcement regarding the appointment of Bhattacharjee, chairman of Tripura Khadi Board, as the new president came on Thursday. He replaced Dr. Manik Saha, who is presently the Chief Minister of Tripura.  

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a social media post shared the official announcement and congratulated Bhattacharjee for being appointed in the new role.

“Congratulations to Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee Ji on being appointed as the president of BJP Tripura. I believe under the guidance of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji & BJP President Shri J.P.Nadda Ji, newly appointed President Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee will work hard to strengthen BJP4Tripura,” Deb wrote.

He held the post of vice-president in Tripura unit of BJP for a long time. 

The party leaders and workers at various levels welcomed the decision and opined that under Bhattacharjee’s leadership the organization would reach a new height.

He has been given the charge of running the BJP’s organization at a crucial time as the state would go to assembly polls in around six months. Besides, the Village Council polls would also take place soon.
